Washington D.C. Trip

World War II Memorial: It was beautiful and very touching to read the many quotes in graven into the walls. This bronze medallion was on the ground as you walk into the memorial and each star on the large wall represented 100 people who died during World War II. I was able to ponder the sacrifice that so many made to secure freedom and peace.

Washington Monument: We were unable to go to the top of the monument because the tickets were sold out, but we will definitely do that another time. The monument changes colors as it goes higher. This is because it stood incomplete for quite some time (I can't remember exactly how long) until it was finished and the stone was a different color.

Lincoln Memorial: It was beautiful to see the Washington Memorial from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. This first picture is the exact view of where Martin Luther King Jr. gave the "I Have A Dream" speech. What a neat feeling to stand where he stood so many years ago.The Capital Building
The White House, at least some of it. You can't get very close.
The Thomas Jefferson Memorial: This Monument is next to the Potomac River which has a walking trail around it. We are thinking about going back when the cherry blossoms arrive in April.
Vietnam Wall: This is my favorite picture of the trip because I was able to catch the Washington Monument in the reflection. The wall is so long with so many names.

Air and Space Museum: This is a plane that Clay's company makes parts for, so of course we had to take a picture. The boys had a good time, and we heard "plane, plane, plane" all day long. We were glad the boys had a good time and of course Clay did too!

New Years Eve hanging out with Cam and Linds, and playing some Wii.
