The past couple of days have been quite uneventful, lazy days around the house. With that comes some fun family time. Here are a couple we captured on camera.
A daily ritual is Carson and Clay playing at lunch time or during the evenings. Playing includes all sorts of things, hide and seek, tossing balls, exploring the backyard, and "ploping" or body slamming dad. I love to see them run around, because really Clay is just a big version of Carson and it is fun to see them be silly together.
Connor is my little snuggler. He loves to lay on me and take naps and loves to be held. Although, you would think this would cause some problems at night, he is a great sleeper in his crib. He doesn't need to be held to go back to sleep at night (let's hope he keeps this up).
This was hillariuos! Carson loves mac and cheese so I sat him at the table in his booster seat, yes that's right no more high chair, and I was sitting in the living room finishing a show I was watching. Now before you think I just left my kid to eat by himself, I wasn't that far from him and I could see him fine. Next thing I knew I looked over at him and he was out. I just cleaned him up as much as I could without totally waking him up and carried him into his bed, yes that's right no more crib when it comes to nap time. Carson has been making so many big steps that it has really felt like he is growing up fast.
The boys first bath together. I can't wait to watch them grow up and have that brother relationship. We realized how much easier it was to give Connor a bath with Carson then to try and do the whole sink bath or baby bath tub. It just adds one more thing to clean up. Watching their first bath made me think that this was the beginning of man bath time adventures with them.
Trying to spend one on one time with Connor has been difficult. The second baby is much different then the first baby experience, but I am trying to learn how it goes and enjoy as much one on one time that I can get with Connor. So he was awake in the afternoon and Carson was watching a movie, I thought this was a perfect time for tummy time. He did great for about one minute and then decided he had enough of my baby talk and took a nap instead. Well, one on one time will come eventually!
Finally, some one on one time came. Carson went to bed and Connor and I just got to snuggle and stare at each other for a while. By the way, I got my first smile from him today and it just melted my heart. I'll try to capture a picture soon. Aren't the chubby cheeks just adorable, I can't help but kiss them every chance I get. I can tell he'll be a sweetheart.
