Rock n' Roll San Antonio Marathon

I ran the marathon yesterday and it felt great to finish!! First I want to tell everyone who encouraged me along my 5 1/2 months of training thank you for the support. Thank you to Scott and Diane my inlaws for the beautiful flowers, to my brother Cameron and sister inlaw Lindsay for the marathon kit and for every word of encouragment from everyone! Thanks to my dad who took all of these amazing pictures and for both my parents for coming and cheering me on. I think I have to thank my husband the most for supporting me through this goal. Every Saturday morning he spent with the boys and Saturday afternoons he spent taking care of my aches and pains following runs, along with sacrificing nights during the week for me to go on runs. He basically has had no chance to do something for himself. I could not have done this without him. So thank you everyone! Now I will attempt to take you on a quick look at my experience.
This picture is around mile 10 when I was still feeling good.

Carson cheering me on. It was great when I got to meet up with my family, it gave me a little boost! My hydration crew!! Clay had a bike that he would ride and meet me every five miles to refill or give me whatever I might need. I knew ahead of time that I didn't like the drink that was going to be supplied so I trained with my hydration belt and gatorade. At this stop I go to see everyone. This is at about mile 21 and that smile you see is definately forced. The only reason I think I smiled was because I heard my mom say "smile dad wants some good pictures" I was struggling about this point and mentally was not in a good place.Mile 22 I was on the edge of tears, but I told myself to suck it up and mile 23 I picked myself up and started for a big finish! This is about a minute after I crossed the finish line. I was overwhelmed with all sorts of emotion.

Finally after I was a little more composed I am proudly displaing my medal!!
